Masters Agriculture Economic Scholarships in Germany at University of Hohenheim Without IELTS

In collaboration with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Universität Hohenheim offers a limited number of scholarships for the M.Sc. Agricultural Economics program under the special initiative “Development-Related Postgraduate Courses” (EPOS). DAAD states that EPOS supports excellent candidates from developing countries with a strong academic and professional background.

The scholarship is aimed at applicants who meet both DAAD EPOS requirements and the admission criteria for the AgEcon program. DAAD EPOS scholarship recipients typically have work experience in a public authority, state institution and/or a private company in a developing country, with experience connected to development policies relating to technology, economics and/or social impact.

Selection for the DAAD EPOS scholarship is described as highly competitive with strict requirements. Applicants must meet EPOS baseline requirements and the scholarship applicant must also meet the AgEcon admission baseline requirements, including an above-average bachelor’s degree, official proof of English proficiency through an accepted test, and proof through statistics/economics courses and the AgEcon PreTest.

DAAD EPOS scholarship recipients have tuition fees waived for the 2 years of the Agricultural Economics Master’s program. They receive health insurance, a monthly living stipend, travel costs to Germany and back as well as for research, and an intensive German language course from August to September at a language center in Germany prior to starting the Master’s program.

• Minimum 2 years professional experience post Bachelor’s, prior to the date of applying
• Employment in academia (teaching and research at a university or research institute) is not considered relevant work experience; only in very exceptional cases can it be accepted
• Academic degrees should be less than 6 years old
• Development-related motivations and intentions
• Must not have resided in Germany for longer than 15 months by the application deadline
• Bachelor’s degree in a related subject with above-average results
• Official proof English proficiency as detailed in the admission regulations; examples include IELTS academic (overall Band 6.5) or TOEFL ibt (90)
• A language proficiency certificate from a university is not sufficient
• Must present results of an official English test even if studied in English during entire university career
• Proof of undergraduate courses in statistics and economics
• Proof of self-evaluation through the AgEcon PreTest
• Applications for scholarship require two parts: emailing DAAD forms and supporting documents to [email protected], and submitting an AgEcon program admission application through the University of Hohenheim’s HohCampus portal
• If applying to more than one EPOS program (maximum 3): the same motivation letter must be submitted to each university, additionally specifying why those specific programs were chosen and why they were ranked in preference

1. Prepare a DAAD EPOS scholarship application consisting of two parts: (a) email the DAAD forms and supporting documents to [email protected], and (b) submit an AgEcon admission application through the University of Hohenheim’s online application portal HohCampus.
2. Email the DAAD EPOS scholarship documents to [email protected] as attachments (do not send a download link), and include “DAAD” and your HohCampus application number in the email subject line (available upon creating an application, even before submitting).
3. Ensure DAAD EPOS scholarship application documents are physically signed and dated, then scanned.
4. When submitting the AgEcon program admission application through HohCampus, follow the stated admission requirements and submit by the EPOS scholarship application deadline.
5. Follow the document naming format for each PDF (Number - Surname Name - Document Type) and compress PDFs only if needed while confirming they remain clearly readable.
6. If applying to more than one EPOS program (maximum 3), submit the same motivation letter to each university with additional wording on why those specific programs were chosen and why they were ranked in preference.
7. If needed, submit English test results by email to [email protected] after December 15 and no later than January 6.

• Up-to-date CV (europass), in reverse chronological order, with date of issue and without any gaps
• Motivation Letter (max 2 pages), with date of issue, including reference to current occupation, aspirations, and rationale for choice of program(s)
• Employer Recommendation from current employer, on official letterhead including information on position and contact details of the referee, signed and dated
• Certificate(s) of Employment from employer(s) proving current employment and the minimum requirement of two years of relevant employment
• Proof of English proficiency as described in the admission requirements
• Diploma & Transcript of Records copies in original form, with certified translations into English or German if issued in another language
• University Entrance Qualification (UEQ) copies in original form, with certified translations into English or German if issued in another language
• Ranking Letter if additional proof is needed to show that the final grade of the previous degree was above average
• APS Certificate (Akademische Prüfstelle) for applicants from India, China and Vietnam
