The Diploma in Ayurveda Nursing at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is a specialised programme for qualified nursing professionals. It combines Ayurvedic principles with modern nursing practices. The curriculum covers basic concepts of Ayurveda, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, Swasthavrutha (preventive care), Aturavrutha (clinical care), Panchakarma therapies, and Keraleeya Visesha Chikitsa, along with nursing management and health programmes.
Students complete hands-on training in procedures including Snehana, Swedana, and Panchakarma. The programme also includes exposure to public health initiatives, accreditation standards, and healthcare management within the Ayurvedic system. The course includes 10 months of academic training followed by a compulsory internship of 2 months at the same institution after successful completion of the examination.
