University of Galway Postgraduate Excellence Scholarship

University of Galway states that it offers the Postgraduate Excellence Scholarship, described as a postgraduate scholarship scheme for EU students applying for full-time taught master’s postgraduate courses. The stated purpose is to support eligible applicants to these programmes.

The scholarship scheme is only open to EU students. Eligibility is linked to acceptance to a full-time taught master’s course at University of Galway and attainment of a first class honours (or equivalent) in a Level 8 primary degree.

University of Galway states that an application for the scholarship scheme is required, separate from the application for a place on the programme. The application portal for the scholarship scheme is available via the scholarship application portal, and applications close on 30 September; late applications will not be accepted.

• Programme: accepted to a full-time taught master’s course at University of Galway
• Academic qualification: attained first class honours (or equivalent) in a Level 8 primary degree
• Application requirement: an application for the scholarship scheme is required, separate to the application for a place on the programme
• Non-EU applicants: not eligible under this scheme

1. Apply for and obtain acceptance to a full-time taught master’s course at University of Galway.
2. Submit a separate application for the scholarship scheme using the scholarship application portal.
3. Complete the scholarship application by the closing date (30 September 2026); late applications will not be accepted.
