Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering

The Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering provides a broad education rooted in science and engineering principles. The first two years emphasize Mathematics, Physics, Engineering Sciences, and an introduction to Engineering Design, with design experiences escalating in complexity throughout the course. During the final two years, students develop technical competence in the design and analysis of civil engineering projects. The program includes hands-on project-based learning and culminates with real-world major projects supervised by licensed professional engineers. It prepares graduates for immediate employment and for pursuing licensure as professional engineers.

• Five CSEC/GCE O-level including English Language, Mathematics, Physics and two other technical or science-related subjects plus GCE Six CAPE Units including Physics Units I and II, Mathematics Units I and II and two other related units or A level Mathematics, Physics and one other relevant subject
• Successful completion of Year One of the Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical with a minimum GPA of 3.05
• Successful completion of UTech, Ja. BEng in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (advanced placement to level 2)
• UTech, Ja. Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (may enter the programme at beginning of level 2)
• Associate Degree in Engineering from Montego Bay, Portmore, or Knox Community College or approved institution with minimum GPA of 2.7 (may enter at beginning of level 2)
