Bachelor of Arts in Music and Musicology Musicology

The Bachelor of Arts in Music and Musicology with a focus on Musicology prepares students for undergraduate and graduate degrees in music. The program covers music history, theory, analysis, composition, and performance practices across various styles. Students study scales, modes, and orchestral instruments while developing skills in critical thinking, performance, improvisation, and creativity. The curriculum follows the American liberal arts model and includes practical evaluation of instrument or voice. Students without piano experience take remedial piano courses. The degree requires completing 99 credits comprising liberal arts, core, major, and elective courses.

Applicants must undergo a practical evaluation assessing their instrument, voice, and musical background. Students without piano experience are required to take Applied Instrumental and Vocal Piano courses (MUS 211 and MUS 221) as remedial classes, with the option to add another instrument.
