Master of Sacred Theology Stm

The Master of Sacred Theology (S.T.M.) is a research degree providing in-depth training in a specific area of theological study. Students must complete at least eight courses or tutorials, pass a general examination in their major field, and write an original thesis. The program includes guidance by an Advisor and Advisory Committee throughout. The program requires 24 credit hours of coursework and a thesis counting for 6 credits. Specializations require knowledge of Biblical Hebrew and Greek or classical Arabic. Final evaluations include a general exam and an oral exam on the thesis.

Applicants must hold an M.Div. or equivalent degree able to undertake 24 credit hours at the school. For Biblical specialization, knowledge of Biblical Hebrew and Greek is required. For Islamic studies specialization, proficiency in classical Arabic is required.
