Bachelor of Accounting Finance Accounting Technology

The Bachelor of Accounting and Finance (Honours) with a specialism in Accounting Technology focuses on the application of technologies and data analytics that are relevant to accounting and finance. Students study accounting and finance fundamentals, then expand into areas such as taxation, management accounting, auditing and assurance, investment and portfolio analysis, and financial planning. The specialism appears in the academic transcript.

Teaching uses common modules across degree levels and includes hands-on training with accounting software and the enterprise resource planning software SAP. Students also complete an internship/industrial training for a minimum period of 16 weeks. In the final year, students use accounting technologies supported by big data and visual analytics, cybersecurity, and robo auditing and analytics, and they complete an Accounting & Finance Research Project.

Direct Entry to Level 1 of the Degree

• STPM: 2 Passes in STPM with a minimum Grade C+ (GP 2.33) and a Credit in Mathematics at SPM Level or its equivalent. Note: Candidates who have obtained a Pass in Mathematics, but do not have a Credit Pass in Mathematics at SPM/IGCSE or equivalent, need to take a Pre-Requisite Mathematics module before enrolment.
• A-Level: 2 Passes (Grade A-D) in A-Level in any 2 subjects, and a Credit in Mathematics at SPM/O-Level or its equivalent. Note: Candidates who have obtained a Pass in Mathematics, but do not have a Credit Pass in Mathematics at SPM/IGCSE or equivalent, need to take a Pre-Requisite Mathematics module before enrolment.
• UEC: 5 Grade B's in any subjects in UEC including Mathematics. Note: Candidates who have obtained a Pass in Mathematics, but do not have a Credit Pass in Mathematics at SPM/IGCSE or equivalent, need to take a Pre-Requisite Mathematics module before enrolment.
• Matriculation/ Foundation: Passed Foundation programme (minimum CGPA of 2.5) with a Credit in Mathematics at SPM/ O-Level/ IGCSE or equivalent. Note: Candidates who have obtained a Pass in Mathematics, but do not have a Credit Pass in Mathematics at SPM/IGCSE or equivalent, need to take a Pre-Requisite Mathematics module before enrolment.

Entry to Level 2 of the Accounting, Banking or Finance Degree

• Diploma in Accounting: Passed Diploma with minimum CGPA of 2.5 and a Credit in Mathematics at SPM/ O-Level/ IGCSE level.
• Any qualification that APU accepts as equivalent to the above.
