Bachelor of Education Honours

The Bachelor of Education (Honours) at University Tun Abdul Razak prepares students for teaching and related careers. It covers common core subjects such as Comparative, International and Global Education, Philosophy, History & Policy of Education, Sociology in Education, Pedagogy in Education, Educational Planning and Management, Technology in Education, and Educational Psychology. Students also study discipline courses including Behaviour and Classroom Management and Testing & Evaluation in Education.

Learning is delivered through full-time study in Conventional On Campus mode or through Open Distance Learning (ODL). The programme includes Professional Practice I and Professional Practice II, plus selected concentration areas chosen from Early Intervention for Young Children with Special Needs, Teaching English as a Second Language, or Educational Technology. Coursework also uses video conferencing and social applications for engagement with instructors and peers.

• STPM: A pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) or its equivalent, with a minimum Grade C (GPA 2.00) in any two (2) subjects; OR
• STAM: A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Jayyid; OR
• Diploma: A Diploma or its equivalent, with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; OR
• MATRICULATION: Matriculation/Foundation or its equivalent, with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; OR
• OTHER: Other relevant or equivalent qualifications, experience and requirements accepted by the UNIRAZAK’s Senate.
• Possess an Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL A) for admission.
• Can be waived should any other higher qualifications contain Mathematics and English subjects with an equivalent/higher achievement.
• Malaysian students using English as the medium of instruction in their previous study or with at least Band 2 in MUET or equivalent can be exempted from a pass in English requirement.
• Those without a pass in Mathematics and/or English at SPM level or equivalent can be admitted but are required to attend special enhancement course(s). These special enhancement courses should be SPM equivalent, remedial in nature. Students must pass the Mathematics and English enhancement courses as a prerequisite to related core courses taught in English.

• A minimum score of Band 5.0 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)*; OR
• A minimum score of 40 for an Internet-Based Total (iBFT) for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)*; OR
• A minimum score of 7.5 for TOEFL Essentials (online); OR
• A minimum score of High B1 (154) in the Linguaskill Test; OR
• A minimum score of 47 in the Pearson Test of English (PTE); OR
• A minimum score of High B1 (154) in the Cambridge English Qualifications and Tests; OR
• A minimum score of Band 3.5 on the Malaysian University English Test (MUET); OR
• Successful attainment of High B1 (154) in CEFR-aligned exams by Cambridge English Qualification conducted by the Centre for Continuing Education (CCE).
