The Bachelor in Fashion Design (Honours) at Raffles University introduces students to the fundamentals of fashion. Students learn how to use textile technology, work with a fashion designer’s studio, and develop design skills through fashion theories. Course learning covers sketching ideas, drawing digitally, creating patterns, constructing outfits, and understanding fabric and material properties.
Teaching includes studio work and design-focused modules across the first, second, and third stage of the programme. Students take studio and studio-adjacent subjects such as CAD for Fashion Design, draping and drafting, sewing applications, sketching, design research and development, and major studio projects. The programme includes an internship and pattern aided design, grading & costing as part of the third stage.
The programme leads to roles including Fashion Designer, Product Developer, Production Manager, Pattern Maker, Fashion Illustrator, Design Room Coordinator, Pattern Maker’s Assistant, Dispatch Room Coordinator, Cutter, Textile Designer, Fabric Development and Consultation, and Accessories Planner.
