Bachelor of Information Technology Honours Majoring in Information Science

This Bachelor of Information Technology (Honours) Majoring in Information Science focuses on information science and the management of information, including how it is collected, stored, retrieved, and used. Core studies include Information Technology Fundamentals, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Security, Web Systems and Technologies, Databases, and programming and networking topics, plus statistics and mathematics for information technology.

The programme includes a specialization in Data Science with modules such as Introduction to Information Science, Information Retrieval, Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems, Data Warehousing and Data Mining, Big Data Analytics, Data Visualization, and Data Science. It also includes internship and hands-on elective courses, including an Internship for Information Technology and a final year Major Project and Minor Project.

STPM
A pass in STPM with a minimum Grade C (GP 2.0) in any 2 subjects and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent; OR

Note: Candidate with a credit in computing related subject at SPM or STPM level or its equivalent may be given preferential consideration.

Diploma / Advanced Diploma
In Computer Science or Software Engineering or Information Technology or Information Systems or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent or Any other Diploma in Science and technology or business studies with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 may be admitted, subject to a rigorous internal assessment process and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent.

Matriculation / Foundation
A pass in Matriculation or Foundation studies with minimum CGPA of 2.0 and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent.
