Bachelor of Information Technology Multimedia Technology with Honours

The Bachelor of Information Technology (Multimedia Technology) with Honours prepares students for multimedia technology roles by teaching graphic design, multimedia development, animation, web design, and digital content production. The programme objectives cover applying information technology and multimedia technology knowledge, using technical tools for multimedia application development and digital design, solving multimedia technology problems, and communicating ideas in oral, written, and visual forms.

Learning follows a practical and project-based approach, with projects such as application or website development, video and animation production, and UI/UX design. Students also build a professional portfolio from these outputs. The programme is full time and runs for 3 Years 6 Months. Graduates can pursue careers including web developer, multimedia developer, animator, web developer, digital graphic designer, and UI/UX designer.

• Pass STPM with at least Grade C (GP 2.00) in any TWO (2) subjects; OR
• Pass STAM with at least Jayyid grade in any TWO (2) subjects; OR
• Pass Matriculation or Foundation with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; OR
• Diploma (Level 4, MQF) in a Non-Computing field with a minimum CGPA of 2.75. Applicants with CGPA below 2.75 but above 2.50 may be accepted subject to strict assessment; AND credit in Mathematics at SPM level or equivalent; OR
• Applicants who passed Mathematics at SPM level must take and pass a Mathematics Enhancement subject equivalent to SPM level. Enhancement Mathematics must be offered in the first semester or before registration with an unconditional offer; OR
• Diploma in Computing (Level 4, MQF) or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50. Applicants with CGPA below 2.50 but above 2.00 may be accepted subject to strict assessment; OR
• Malaysian Skills Diploma (DKM) / Malaysian Vocational Diploma (DVM) in Computing with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 subject to University Senate / Academic Board approval; OR
• Advanced Malaysian Skills Diploma (DLKM) in Computing with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 subject to University Senate / Academic Board approval; OR
• Other relevant and equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government. (Applicants may be accepted if their entry qualification contains a Mathematics subject equivalent to SPM Mathematics. If not equivalent, Enhancement Mathematics equivalent to SPM must be offered in the first semester or before registration with an unconditional offer).

Note: Students must pass Enhancement Mathematics before being allowed to take core courses requiring it. Applicants may take subjects that do not have Mathematics as a prerequisite. Enhancement Mathematics may contribute to overall graduation credits. Students from Matriculation / Foundation or equivalent may be exempted from Enhancement Mathematics, provided the Mathematics offered at program level is equivalent or higher than SPM level.
