The Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering at Nilai University College trains students for aircraft maintenance roles and supports preparation for the European Aviation Safety Agency Part 66 Category B1 or B2 license examinations. Students study aviation legislation, basic aerodynamics, human factors, materials and hardware, mathematics, and physics, plus discipline core modules such as airframe structures, turbine engine and APU, instrument and avionics systems, and maintenance practices.
The programme lasts 2.5 years across 7 semesters and includes industrial training through guaranteed industrial attachment with aviation partners, plus on-the-job training. Students complete a final year project and also take common core modules and elective modules, supported by laboratory and workshop-style practical components within the maintenance-oriented modules listed.
Graduates can move into roles including aircraft maintenance technician, aircraft maintenance engineer (mechanical), aircraft maintenance engineer (avionics), aero components repair technician, quality assurance engineer, airworthiness inspector, and technical service engineer.
