Diploma in Computer Science

The Diploma in Computer Science (DCS) at Perdana University is a 2-year course focused on foundational Computer Science skills and knowledge. Students study Programming, Mathematics and Statistics, Databases, Data Modelling, Data Visualisation, Data Analytics, and Software Implementation, which are said to lead towards Data Sciences and Cloud Computing Technology. Students are expected to use computer technologies and demonstrate communication skills.

Teaching is organised through a year-by-year curriculum structure with listed modules across Year 1 and Year 2. The programme also includes specialisations: Data Science / Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Web Development, and Cloud Computing. Students also study General Studies subjects as part of the curriculum.

SPM: A pass with at least credit in any three subjects inclusive of Mathematics or any equivalent qualification;

OR

STPM: A pass with a minimum of Grade C (Grade Points, GP 2.0) in any subject or any equivalent qualification and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent;

OR

STAM: A pass with a minimum grade of Maqbul (pass) and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent;

OR

SKM: A pass SKM Level 3, and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent;

OR

Certificate: A pass in any qualifications equivalent to Certificate (Level 3, MQF) and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent.

• Candidates who have passed Mathematics at the SPM level or its equivalent may be admitted, provided their certificate program includes Mathematics subjects equivalent to those at the SPM level.
• Candidates with a pass in Mathematics at SPM level and without a related certificate will need to take a reinforcement Mathematics subject with appropriate topics in the discipline of Computing at the beginning of their study.
• Candidates with a credit in Computing-related subjects at SPM level or its equivalent may be given preferential consideration.

MUET: Minimum Band 3 OR equivalent to CEFR (Mid B1) — required for international students.
