The Diploma in Information Technology at University Tun Abdul Razak develops theoretical and practical knowledge in information technology. You study subjects including Object Oriented Programming, Database Design, Web Design & Development, and Computer Networks. The programme also includes public speaking assignments to prepare you for effective communication in future workplaces.
The diploma requires a total of 93 credit hours within 2 years 4 months (minimum). It is offered in Conventional and Open Distance Learning (ODL) study modes. Teaching is supported through core courses such as System Analysis and Design and a Software Development Project, as well as Software Testing and other technology-focused modules.
SPM: A pass in SPM with at least credits in any three (3) subjects, including Mathematics, or any equivalent qualification; OR
STPM: A pass in Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum of Grade C (GP 2.0) in any subject, or any equivalent qualification, and a credit in Mathematics at the SPM level or its equivalent; OR
STAM: A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Maqbul and a credit in Mathematics at the SPM level or its equivalent; OR
SKM: Possess SKM Level 3 in a related field. Candidates without Mathematics may be admitted subject to a thorough assessment to determine whether their Mathematics competency is equivalent to the SPM level; OR
A Certificate (Level 3, MQF) in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; OR
Other relevant and equivalent qualifications recognised by the Government of Malaysia. Admission through Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL A).
A minimum score of Band 4.0 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS); OR
A minimum score of 30–31 in the Internet-Based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL iBT); OR
A minimum score of 5 in TOEFL Essentials (Online); OR
A minimum score of 36 in the Pearson Test of English (PTE); OR
A minimum score of B1 (140) in the Cambridge English Qualifications and Tests; OR
A minimum score of Band 3 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET); OR
Successful attainment of B1 (140) in CEFR-aligned examinations by Cambridge English Qualifications conducted by the Centre for Continuing Education (CCE).
Note: A conditional offer letter will be issued to an international student who has not met the English proficiency requirement.
