Doctor of Business Administration

The Doctor of Business Administration at Malaysia University of Science and Technology (MUST) is a practice-based research program for experienced professionals. It focuses on strategic decision-making, leadership, and corporate innovation, using in-depth research and real-world applications. The curriculum includes areas such as strategic planning, business digital transformation, corporate reporting and sustainability, and operations and supply chain optimization.

The program is delivered 100% online. It requires a minimum course duration of 20 months. As part of the learning, 30% of face-to-face learning includes six sessions at MUST campus in Kota Damansara, with each session lasting four days. Mode of study is full time or part time, with intakes in April / May.

The DBA awards an academic qualification at MQF Level 8 with a credit value of 100% research. It is structured as a single major. The program includes advanced research methodology, quantitative and qualitative data analyses, and a dissertation split into two parts.

Academic Requirements

– Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 as accepted by the HEP Senate; OR
– Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 but below 2.50, subject to a rigorous internal assessment; OR
– Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in non-related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and relevant working experience, subject to a rigorous internal assessment; OR
– Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in non-related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and without relevant working experience, subject to passing pre-requisite courses; OR
– A Pass at Level 7 Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) assessment by MQA; OR
– Other equivalent/related qualifications to a Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) recognised by the Malaysian Government.
