Doctor of Philosophy Finance

Asia e University offers a Doctor of Philosophy in Finance. The programme focuses on Finance, Banking & Insurance with an emphasis on Asian-centricity. It trains students to demonstrate critical understanding of advanced knowledge in Finance, Banking and Insurance, and to conduct original research that broadens the frontier of knowledge in the field.

The programme is delivered as Part-Time study with Fully Online and Blended Learning options. It follows a structure with proposal development, data collection, report writing, and thesis examination and viva voce. Students also access research workshops, research colloquia, and research clinics. Optional research workshops and colloquia occur once a month on Saturday and Sunday.

Graduates are expected to be prepared for upper-level positions in organisations, consulting, or academia. They are also expected to contribute to improvement in their place of employment and to the nation.

For Malaysian and International Students: A Master’s degree shall normally in Finance, Banking, Insurance or related field as accepted by the HEP Senate; or Other equivalent qualifications to Master’s degree that are accepted by the Senate of HEP.

• There shall be no direct entry from Bachelor’s degree level to Doctoral degree level
• Candidates with Bachelor’s degree qualifications who is registered for Masters programmes, may apply to convert their candidacy to the Doctoral degree programmes within ONE (1) year after Master’s degree registration, subjected to: Having shown competency and capability in conducting research at Doctoral degree level. Rigorous internal evaluation by the HEP. Approval by the Senate of HEP.
• No proposal is needed at the point of entry. Only brief research intent.
• Viva Voce for international students can be done on-campus or off-campus via video conferencing.
• Transfer of candidature is possible, if compliant-requirements are fulfilled.

• Minimum score of 6.5 for IELTS OR its equivalent (ELCR Band for International Students Only).
