Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

The Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) at Management and Science University (MSU) is a 5-year professional program structured into 3 phases: preclinical, paraclinical, and clinical years. Students study animal production and health, veterinary anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, nutrition, animal welfare, veterinary pathology, bacteriology, virology, parasitology, veterinary surgery, veterinary medicine, veterinary diseases, clinical practice, and veterinary clinical practice. The curriculum also includes One Health and field-based learning.

Teaching includes preclinical courses in the first 2 years, with paraclinical courses starting as early as the 2nd year but mainly in the 3rd year. Clinical courses start as early as the 3rd year into the 4th and final years. The final year focuses on veterinary clinical practice through rotation in the various units of a veterinary teaching hospital. The program includes 200 credit hours.

The program is aimed at students who want preparation for diverse veterinary careers, supported by clinical training, industry partnerships, hands-on clinical exposure, and global academic linkages.

• Minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) 3.0
• Minimum CGPA 3.5
• Minimum following Grade B subjects: Biology; Physics or Chemistry; Mathematics
• Minimum Grade B in the following (or equivalent): Diploma in a suitable field (e.g., Diploma in Animal Husbandry and Health) recognised by the Malaysian government, Malaysian Qualifications Agency and recommended by MSU Senate.
• For applicants whose diploma CGPA is below 3.5: Work Experience (Years) / Minimum CGPA: 3–4 / 3.0; 5–9 / 2.7; >10 / 2.5
• Minimum Grade B at SPM level (or equivalent) for: English; Mathematics
• Minimum Grade B at O level (or equivalent) for: English; Mathematics
• And minimum Grade B for any three (3) other subjects.
• Proof of English proficiency
• All applicants: Pass Veterinary Entrance Test (VET) interview

• Malaysian student: MUET (min. Band 3) or MSU English Proficiency Test.
• International student: MUET (min. Band 3) or MSU English Proficiency Test (or equivalent). TOEFL iBT 79, IELTS 5.5 (or equivalent) are acceptable equivalents.
