Master in Film Studies

The Master in Film Studies (MFS) at Kathmandu University School of Arts is a two-year, 66-credit academic program combining theoretical, critical, and practical approaches to filmmaking. Students study film principles, theories, production techniques, and research methods, including three short film projects and portfolio development. The program includes workshops, seminars, internships, and a graduation film production, blending individual and collaborative learning to prepare students for roles in the film and media industries. Students may exit after one year with a Postgraduate Diploma upon completing 30 credits.

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 45% or 2.0 CGPA; candidates must pass an entrance exam and interview.
