The Master of Education in English Language Education at Kathmandu University prepares students to become EFL teachers, teacher educators, and materials developers. It focuses on applying the latest ELT principles and methodologies, conducting small-scale research, designing teacher training, and developing ELT materials suited to changing educational needs. The program aims to improve ELT quality in Nepal by addressing the lack of skilled teacher educators and appropriate materials. The program lasts two years and is divided into four semesters. It includes 48 credits of taught courses, a 3-credit internship, and a 9-credit research component. The course is designed to provide both theoretical knowledge and practical experience via teaching, training, and materials development tasks. Students have access to a supportive learning environment including a resourceful library, workshops, and expert faculty from diverse backgrounds.
