Utrecht University explains that due to significant budget cuts, the Utrecht Excellence Scholarship (UES) will no longer be offered for programmes starting in the– academic year. Utrecht University also states that no new UES applications will be accepted as of the upcoming admissions cycle.

Utrecht University states that if an applicant has already been awarded a UES, the scholarship remains unchanged and will continue as agreed. Utrecht University links this change to long-term sustainability.
