Radboud University Scholarship in the Netherlands: Study a Master’s Degree with Funding

The Radboud Scholarship Programme is a selective scholarship programme from Radboud University. It is funded by the Profiling Fund of Radboud University and offers non-EEA students with outstanding study results the opportunity to be awarded a scholarship for a complete English-taught Radboud University Master’s programme.

The scholarship is for non-EEA students from all non-EU/non-EEA countries and is available for a maximum number of scholarships across specific Radboud University faculties. The scholarship applies to all English-taught Master’s programmes, except Erasmus Mundus Master’s programmes and joint-degree Master’s programmes.

Selection is based on academic excellence, ambition, and references. Students are individually considered by the selection committee of the faculty they applied to, using the stated criteria; faculties may also use other criteria such as interviews for some study programmes.

The scholarship has a nominal duration equal to the Master’s programme duration. For recipients admitted to a two-year Master’s programme, continued eligibility for the second year requires passing all courses in the first year. Living and studying costs in the Netherlands are not covered by the scholarship.

• Passport: hold a non-EU/non-EEA passport.
• Tuition fee status: are not eligible for the lower EU/EEA tuition fee for other reasons.
• Previous education: have (will obtain) a Bachelor’s degree achieved outside the Netherlands; have no degrees achieved in the Netherlands; and did not receive any previous education in the Netherlands (exchange programmes excluded, provided that they are part of the Bachelor’s degree achieved outside the Netherlands).
• Degree level: apply for an English-taught Master’s programme at Radboud University.
• Programme restrictions: all English-taught Master’s programmes are eligible with the exception of Erasmus Mundus Master’s programmes and joint-degree Master’s programmes.
• English proficiency: meet the English language proficiency requirement for the Master’s programme of your choice.
• Admission timing: have been fully admitted to the English-taught Master’s programme starting 1 September 2027 as stated in the formal letter of admission.
• Visa compliance: are able to comply with the conditions for obtaining a visa for the Netherlands.
• Enrolment status: are enrolled at Radboud University as a full-time student for the academic year and Master’s programme for which the scholarship will be awarded.
• Scholarship application process: indicate during the admission application in the OSIRIS Application system that you wish to apply for a Radboud Scholarship.

• Tuition fee reduction: reduces the tuition fee to €2,771.- (amount to be confirmed) for the Radboud University Master’s programme.
• Visa costs: covers costs for visa.
• Residence permit: covers costs for residence permit.
• Health insurance: covers health insurance for the stay in the Netherlands (Aon Student Insurance).
• Liability insurance: covers liability insurance for the stay in the Netherlands (Aon Student Insurance).
• Living and studying costs: costs of living and studying in the Netherlands are not covered by the scholarship.

1. Apply for admission to a Radboud University Master’s programme in the OSIRIS Application system.
2. During the Master’s programme admission application, indicate that you wish to apply for a Radboud Scholarship.
3. Upload three additional documents when requested in OSIRIS: two reference letters and a curriculum vitae (CV). If you already uploaded these documents for the Master’s programme application, you can upload the same documents again for the scholarship application.
4. Submit the OSIRIS application by 31 January 2027 23:59 CET at the latest.
5. After submission, Radboud University’s Student Admissions office checks your OSIRIS application and sends it back for payment of the handling fee and for correction of any incorrect, illegible, or missing documents; resubmit your application as soon as possible.
6. Ensure your application is complete by 14 February 2027 23:59 CET at the latest; incomplete applications will not be considered for scholarship selection. The programme also recommends handing in proof of English proficiency before 14 February 2027 23:59 CET.
7. Wait for the final decision: you will be informed before mid-April 2027 (date subject to change) by department Student Life and International Mobility.
8. Note: the selection for the scholarship and the admission to the Master’s programme are two separate processes; admission does not imply selection for the scholarship.
