University of Groningen Eric Bleumink Fund , Netherlands. (Fully-Funded)

The University of Groningen Eric Bleumink Fellowship is provided by the University of Groningen. Its purpose is to fund selected Master (MSc/MA/LL.M.) degree programmes.

The fellowship applies to Master programmes (MSc/MA/LL.M.) and candidates holding the nationality of a country appearing in Appendix 1, with eligible countries including Afghanistan, Angola, Bangladesh, Benin, Bhutan, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Chad, Comoros, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Kiribati, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Somalia, Tanzania, Togo, Tuvalu, Uganda, Vanuatu, Yemen, Timor-Leste, South Sudan, Central African Republic, Zambia, Bolivia, Cape Verde, Congo, Ghana, Honduras, India, Korea, Dem. Rep., Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Morocco, Nigeria, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Algeria, Cameroon, Congo (Dem Rep.), Egypt, Iran, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Kenya, Micronesia, Nicaragua, Niger, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Tajikistan, Tokelau, Tunisia, Zimbabwe, and Lao People's Democratic Republic.

The University of Groningen Admission Office, in consultation with the Admission Boards of its faculties, determines which applicants will be nominated. An Eric Bleumink Fellowship cannot be actively applied for; suitable candidates will be informed about a nomination. The grant is awarded for a Master’s programme starting in September, for a 1 year or 2 years duration, and covers tuition fee, costs of international travel, subsistence, books, and health insurance, with only a limited number of grants available.

• Programme level: Master (MSc/MA/LL.M.) programmes.
• Admission requirement: have received provisional or unconditional admission for a master programme before February (only then will applicants be considered for a grant).
• Academic performance: have excellent academic performance, preferably confirmed by letters of recommendation.
• Undergraduate performance: have excellent grades during bachelor/undergraduate studies.
• English proficiency: have excellent English language proficiency, in accordance with the admission requirements of the programme of choice.
• Availability: be available for the whole period of the programme and be able to take part in the entire programme.
• Health: be in good health, so that health insurance in the Netherlands can be arranged.
• Nationality: hold the nationality of a country appearing in Appendix 1.
• Funding: have no other means of financing the study in question.
• Selection/nomination route: candidates for the fellowship should be nominated; it is not possible to actively apply for an Eric Bleumink Fellowship.
• Master application timing: to allow for enough time to process the master application by the Admission Office, such a master application should be completed before 1st of December.
• Grant timing: the grant is awarded for a 1 year or 2 years Master’s degree programme starting in September only.

• Health insurance.

1. Do not submit an application for the Eric Bleumink Fellowship, because it is not possible to actively apply for the scholarship.
2. Apply for the Master programme so that you receive a provisional or unconditional admission offer before February.
3. Complete the Master programme application before 1st of December to allow time for processing by the Admission Office.
4. Wait for nomination: suitable candidates will be informed about a nomination, and the University of Groningen Admission Office (with faculty Admission Boards) will determine which applicants are nominated for the fellowship.
