University of Twente Scholarships

University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) is a scholarship for excellent students from non-EU/EER countries applying for a graduate programme (MSc) at the University of Twente. The scholarship value is € 3,000–€ 22,000 for one year. The University of Twente states the scholarship is meant as compensation for study related costs, and students decide how to spend the money.

The UTS is aimed at applicants from non-EU/EER countries applying for an MSc at the University of Twente. The University of Twente provides an extensive list of countries eligible for this scholarship, and the programmes included are its master’s (MSc) offerings listed on the page (including, for example, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, Biomedical Engineering, and Business Administration).

Selection is described for continuing support during a second year of a two-year MSc programme. For the second year, students can receive an additional UTS equal to the amount in the first year if they meet the process requirements for the UTS, including obtaining an average grade of 7 (out of 10) at the end of the third quartile of the first year and at least 50% of European Credits at the end of the third quartile of the first year.

For two-year study programmes, the University of Twente states that the scholarship can be continued for the second year only when the above process requirements are met. The University of Twente also states that no costs (e.g., tuition fees) will be paid on the student’s behalf, and it is up to the scholarship student to decide how to spend the scholarship amount. An additional scholarship may be awarded to UTS recipients for programmes starting in September, including the Kipaji Scholarship.

• For a two-year study programme: scholarship continuation during the second year requires meeting process requirements for the UTS
• For a two-year study programme: average grade of 7 (out of 10) at the end of the third quartile of the first year
• For a two-year study programme: at least 50% of European Credits at the end of the third quartile of the first year
• To be eligible for a Kipaji Scholarship as an additional scholarship: students need to apply for the University of Twente Scholarship (UTS)
