Rules Semester PhD

The PhD program follows semester rules covering comprehensive examination and thesis submission and defense. After completing approved course work, students take a comprehensive examination that tests breadth of knowledge and intellectual maturity. The examination covers the complete course work and focuses on integrating and assimilating knowledge from courses, seminars, and independent studies.

Students can attempt the comprehensive examination up to a maximum of two attempts. Three papers are conducted, and a pass requires 65% marks in each paper. After passing course work, the written comprehensive examination, and residential requirements, students submit a thesis for examination. Thesis submission follows approved guidelines, must be an original scholarly contribution, and is supported by required research paper publication and certified copies for evaluation.
