Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics Major in Actuarial Science

The Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics major in Actuarial Science (BS AMAS) at the University of Santo Tomas is a four-year program that trains students for the actuarial profession. It provides exposure to the breadth and depth of mathematics, business, and finance, moving from theoretical to applied work. The curriculum includes foundational courses in core areas of mathematics or applied mathematics, plus specialized courses in actuarial science and other advanced courses.

Students are trained to do research to develop analytical thinking and quantitative skills. The program focuses on core areas such as algebra, analysis, and geometry, and also includes techniques and models useful in insurance, business, and industries. Instruction is supported through the UST Cloud Campus as a main platform for delivering instruction, and the program aims to provide laboratory instruction despite limits set by physical distancing and public health regulations.
