The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at Silliman University studies computing foundations and programming, including Introduction to Computing, Fundamentals of Programming, Discrete Structures 1 and 2, and Intermediate Programming. The curriculum also covers object-oriented programming, data structures and algorithms, algorithms and complexity, human computer interaction, networks and communication, web systems and technologies, and software engineering. In later years, students take Architecture & Organization, Automata Theory & Formal Languages, Data Mining, Introduction to Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics & Enterprise Data Management, Programming Languages, Information Assurance and Security, Graphics & Visual Computing, and CS Thesis 1 and 2.
Instruction is organized across multiple semesters and includes laboratory components for many courses, as shown by lecture and lab credit patterns in the curriculum. A summer practicum course is included: CS Practicum with a practicum fee, with 280 hours. The program also includes NSTP and PathFit courses, plus institutional required subjects and general education subjects alongside major subjects, major electives, and professional electives.
