The Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Silliman University prepares students through nursing-focused courses that cover fundamentals of nursing practice, nursing care across different populations, and nursing research. The curriculum includes Nursing Informatics, Nutrition & Diet Therapy, Pharmacology, and multiple client-care courses such as Care of Mother & Child, Care of Mother Child at Risk, and Care of Clients with GI, Perception & Coordination.
Course delivery follows a lecture and lab / RLE structure across semesters, with units listed for each course. Nursing practice is built through courses that include RLE components and practicum. The curriculum includes Nursing Research 1 and Nursing Research 2 and culminates with Intensive Nursing Practicum, supported by related nursing leadership and emergency-focused study such as Disaster Nursing and Nursing Care of Clients w/ Life Threatening Conditions.
Admission is for first-year students from the STEAM/STEM track at Senior High. Students shifting into BS Nursing while already in college must have completed the Augmentation subjects (sciences, math, and English) equivalent to the STEAM/STEM track, with passing grades, before proceeding to admission screening. The program is shown under Silliman University College of Nursing in Dumaguete City.
