Bachelor of Special Needs Education Major in Early Childhood Education

The Bachelor of Special Needs Education (BSNEd) with a Major in Early Childhood Education is an undergraduate degree that specializes in special needs education. It prepares teachers to instruct and manage students with additional needs in inclusive and segregated educational settings. Graduates are equipped to teach the basic education curriculum and alternate curricula depending on student needs.

The program follows a full-time, campus-based mode of study. It is structured as an ECE non-thesis track and includes general education courses, professional education courses, major courses, specialization in ECE, elective courses, mandated courses (PATHFIT & NSTP), and institutional courses. The total is 180 units.

Modules

• Specialization in ECE

General admission requirements of the University: Certificate of Good Moral Character; Birth Certificate /PSA Document; Marriage Contract for married female students; two pieces 2x2 picture. Applicants seeking admission/readmission to Education Programs must also meet the following:

• Incoming First Year Students: Form 138 (High School Report Card) with an average grade of at least Eighty Percent (80%) as indicated in the Form 138; Admission Exam (OASIS); Interview with the Dean/Academic Supervisor/Evaluation Committee.
• Transferees: Honorable Dismissal from School Last Attended; Transcript of Records; Certificate of Good Moral Character; Interview with the Dean/ Head/Evaluation Committee.

• Teacher in regular and special education schools (provided the graduate passes the Licensure Examination for Teachers in the subject area of specialization).
• Educational support for students with additional needs in inclusive classrooms.
• Educational services for students who may be enrolled in special education centers.
