PAMSA South Africa Master’s in Chemical Engineering Bursary

The PAMSA Master’s in Chemical Engineering Bursary Programme provides financial support and a research programme for a Master’s in Chemical Engineering. It is described as a programme in which students work on projects that include beneficiation of wood fibre, recycled fibre, or process waste, and resource efficiency. The programme covers full-time study at participating universities.

Applications are aimed at BSc or BEng Chemical Engineering final-year students or recent graduates from a registered South African university. Participating universities listed are Stellenbosch University, University of the Witwatersrand, University of the North-West, and University of Pretoria. Participation can also facilitate possible employment as an engineer-in-training at participating PAMSA member companies.

Interviews are held only with selected candidates, and terms and conditions apply. Applications that do not meet the stated criteria will not be considered.

Support is for two years of full-time study. The bursary includes tuition and research. After the programme, participation also facilitates possible employment as an engineer-in-training at participating PAMSA member companies.

• You must be a final-year student or a recent graduate in BSc or BEng (Chemical Engineering) from a registered South African university.
• You must have a minimum 60% average in your final year.
• You must have completed, or be on track to complete, your studies in five years or less.
• South African citizenship is preferred.
• You must submit a CV, academic transcripts for each year, letters of reference, and a motivation.
• Applications that do not meet the above criteria will not be considered.

• R320,000 over two years for tuition and research.
