The Bachelor’s Degree Aromatherapy at Bircham International University studies the use of volatile plant oils, externally and internally, for preventive health care, healing, beauty, and relaxation. Essential oils are described as highly concentrated plant extracts distilled from roots, flowers, leaves, and stalks, with scents that act on the hypothalamus to affect physical and/or mental conditions. The program is delivered online via distance learning.
The program requires 130 academic credits and is 100% based on textbooks. It includes general education credits, aromatherapy credits, and additional subjects. Study is supported through included textbooks, a study guide, and evaluation and assessment. Students complete academic work through reports, projects, and a thesis, with each BIU earned credit linked to defined semester credit and ECTS values.
Admission is open for adults over 23 years of age. General education minimum requirements: 40 credits. A minimum transfer of 40 credits from previous education should be accounted as an equivalent of general education credits towards the Bachelor's Degree online via distance learning.
