Doctor PhD Degree Animal Studies Research

The Doctor Ph.D. Degree in Animal Studies & Research is a cross-disciplinary distance-learning doctorate focused on how humans conceive of non-human animals and how those conceptions change over time, across cultures, and across different ways of thinking. It covers human animal behavior and relations, the use of animals in agriculture, animals as companions, trophies, subjects of testing and research, and animals as living entities with or without rights. It also considers animals in the wild or in captivity and their interactions with ecosystems.

Study is delivered via distance learning with a program structure of 70% textbooks and 30% thesis. Academic credit requirements are 45 to 72 academic credits above a Master’s program. The composition includes 42 academic credits for Animal Studies & Research Online and 18 academic credits for research methodology and a final project or thesis. The program uses included bibliography and textbooks. Program fees include the program of study, textbooks, study guide, evaluation and assessment, diploma, and transcript.
