The Doctor Ph.D. Degree in Art Therapy at Bircham International University explores how creative expression through different forms of art supports healing and mental well-being. It addresses how art therapy can help children, adolescents, and adults explore emotions, improve self-esteem, manage addictions, relieve stress, improve symptoms of anxiety and depression, and cope with physical illness or disability.
This distance-learning program is structured as 70% textbooks and 30% thesis. It requires 45 to 72 academic credits above a Master’s program, with composition including Art Therapy Online (30 academic credits) and research methodology and a final project or thesis (18 academic credits).
