This Doctor Ph.D. Degree in gerontology studies the social, cultural, psychological, cognitive, and biological aspects of aging. It also explains how gerontology differs from geriatrics, and focuses on improving quality of life and promoting well-being through research, education, and interdisciplinary knowledge of the aging process and aging populations.
The degree is delivered online via distance learning. The program uses a structure of 70% textbooks and 30% thesis, with an average duration of 24 months. The curriculum includes 42 academic credits for Gerontology Online and 18 academic credits for research methodology and a final project or thesis. The bibliography includes textbooks included in the fees.
Admission is open for adults over 27 years of age. A Master’s degree or international equivalent (5 years of study) is required for admission.
