Doctor PhD Degree Meteorology

Bircham International University offers a Doctor Ph.D. Degree in Meteorology via distance learning. The program covers the atmosphere, including weather, climate, and climate change. Study topics include atmospheric composition and air pollution, clouds and precipitation, atmospheric energy cycles, causes of wind systems and jet streams, cyclones and anticyclones, and severe weather such as thunderstorms, tornadoes, and hurricanes. It also covers the origins of climate change (natural and human) and how weather forecasting is done.

The program is designed for adults and professionals, with admission for adults over 27 years of age. The Doctor Ph.D. structure is 70% textbooks and 30% thesis, with an average duration of 24 months. It requires 45 to 72 academic credits above a Master’s program, including 24 academic credits for Meteorology Online and 18 academic credits for research methodology and a final project or thesis.
