This Doctor Ph.D. Degree in Music Therapy via distance learning explores how music interventions can support therapeutic goals and improve a patient’s quality of life. Students study how music therapists assess strengths and needs, then provide treatment using creating, singing, moving to, and/or listening to music.
The program uses a structured format of 70% textbooks and 30% thesis. It includes 45 to 72 academic credits above a Master’s program, with 21 academic credits for Music Therapy Online and 18 academic credits for research methodology and a final project or thesis.
It is designed for adults and professionals, with admission open for adults over 27 years of age. Admission requires a Master’s degree or international equivalent, and previous knowledge in the field of study is required.
