The Doctor Ph.D. Degree in Nutrition & Diet Therapy via distance learning focuses on nutrition-based therapies to prevent and treat common diseases and disorders. It explains biochemical imbalance as the cause of symptoms and uses therapeutic diets, food, and nutritional supplements to restore normal physiological functioning and the structural integrity of the body and its organs.
The program is delivered online through distance learning and is organized as 70% textbooks and 30% thesis. It includes 45 to 72 academic credits, with 36 academic credits for Nutrition & Diet Therapy Online and additional credits for research methodology and a final project or thesis. Academic support is provided by an academic supervisor, Leonie van Heerden.
Admission is open for adults over age 27. A Master’s degree or international equivalent (5 years of study) is required for admission.
