The Doctor Ph.D. Degree Soil Science is offered via distance learning. It presents the properties and mechanics of soil that govern plant growth, construction, and conservation. Study includes soil biology, chemistry, water, fertility, classification, and survey, and connects these topics to current soil and wetland management, soil mapping using Geographic Information Systems, and sustainable soil use.
The program uses a structure of 70% textbooks and 30% thesis. It includes 36 academic credits for Soil Science Online plus other additional subjects, and 18 academic credits for research methodology and a final project or thesis. Academic work supports adult learners and prepares them to handle environmental issues such as soil and water conservation, nutrient management, and sustainable agriculture.
