Grado en Audiologia General

The Bachelor’s degree in General Audiology prepares students to become general audiologists who provide integrated support for people with hearing or balance deficits and for their educational and social inclusion. Students learn to evaluate hearing and balance in people of all ages, and to advise on prevention, detection, intervention, rehabilitation, and management of hearing and balance disorders. The degree also develops skills for specialized audiological counselling on selecting, adapting, and evaluating hearing assistance devices.

The programme is designed around an applied learning environment with multiple cases and situations in general audiology. It lasts four academic years (240 ECTS) and includes basic training (78 ECTS), required subjects (114 ECTS), clinical placements (21 ECTS), elective subjects (21 ECTS), and the final year dissertation (6 ECTS). The degree also prepares students for further specialization through master’s programmes and doctoral programmes.

The degree is directed, preferably, to two groups: (1) students who have completed upper secondary education (bachillerato) in Science and Technology, in the Health Sciences modality, with Biology, Physics, and Mathematics weighted double; and (2) students who have completed vocational training and obtained the Higher Technician Degree in Audiology Prosthetics. In addition, applicants must have a good knowledge of Spanish; if Spanish is not their mother tongue, it is mandatory to prove a B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (MCERL). Applicants must also have knowledge of English for working with specialized bibliography, the ability to adapt to changing environments with new knowledge, good study habits and dedication, and a social service attitude.

To enrol, there are no special conditions or tests beyond the general requirements set by the basic state regulations. For foreign students whose mother tongue is not Spanish, B2 in Spanish (MCERL) is required.
