Grado en Geografia

The Grado en Geografía at Universidad de Salamanca provides a theoretical and methodological, technical, and instrumental foundation to analyze spatial processes and to recommend solutions to challenges with a spatial basis. Students study how political, economic, social, and environmental facts and phenomena appear in specific territories, shaped by complex human and spatial relationships.

The degree totals 240 ECTS and is organized into basic, compulsory, elective subjects, mandatory external placements, and a final degree project. External placements take place in companies or entities aligned with professional profiles such as geographic information technologies; the physical environment, natural resources and the environment; territorial, environmental and urban planning and management; territorial and socioeconomic analysis; and regional and local development. Examples include city councils, associations, provincial councils, and foundations.

There is no specific entry profile because Geography is presented as open and inclusive. Access is possible from any high school track. The recommended preparation for the degree includes special sensitivity to physical-environmental aspects, transformations caused by human intervention in the environment, and socioeconomic changes in the current world, supported by basic knowledge of both human and social sciences and earth sciences.

To enroll in this degree, there are no special conditions or tests beyond the general requirements set by the basic national regulation.
