Grado en Geologia

The Grado en Geología at Universidad de Salamanca trains students in a systemic approach to understanding interactions, past and present, between processes on Earth and other celestial bodies. It also covers disturbances of these systems from extraterrestrial influences and from human influence. The degree explains how geological practice affects public safety and wellbeing, the environment, the economy, natural resources, and the feasibility of engineering works.

The degree follows Plan and totals 240 ECTS. It includes 60 ECTS of basic training, 147 ECTS of required courses, 24 ECTS of electives, and 9 ECTS for the Final Degree Project. Field practice is included across different subjects because it is described as essential for professional training in geology.

To enroll in this degree, there are no special conditions or tests other than the general ones established by the basic state regulations.

The programme recommends a foundation at secondary education level in science branch subjects, user-level familiarity with text processing programs and spreadsheets, and a foundation in English that allows comprehension of scientific texts.
