Grado en Informacion Y Documentacion

The Grado en Información y Documentación at Universidad de Salamanca is a bachelor’s degree focused on information and documentation. It aims to prepare students for roles in the management of information, documentation, and content, including advice, direction, organization, management, and supervision in libraries, archives, and documentation centers. It also develops skills in obtaining, processing, and interpreting data, and in studying, managing, and evaluating information production, transfer, and use.

Under the Plan, the degree totals 240 ECTS and is organized into basic training subjects (60 ECTS), required subjects (138 ECTS), optional subjects (24 ECTS), external work placements (12 ECTS), and the final degree project (6 ECTS). External placements are carried out in a range of entities, including the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport; Regional government offices; libraries, archives, museums, and media documentation centers; and organizations such as Biblioteca Nacional de España and Xercode Gestión documental.

The degree is directed, preferably, at people who completed upper secondary education in Humanities and Social Sciences or at graduates from other fields who are working in information units and want official university training in Information and Documentation. It also supports preparation for postgraduate studies. Students study in an applied learning environment that uses cases and situations, and includes ethical discussions in the area of information and documentation.
