The Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a specialisation in Civil Construction at Universidad de Salamanca trains students for the regulated profession of Civil Technical Engineer for Public Works. It builds scientific and technological knowledge for work in the drafting of studies and projects, and in the direction, organisation, and operation of works and engineering services. The degree includes two training tracks: Civil Constructions (Track A) at the Higher Polytechnic School of Zamora, and Hydrology (Track B) at the Higher Polytechnic School of Ávila.

The curriculum totals 240 European ECTS credits across 4 academic years, with 60 ECTS per year. The first two academic years are identical across both tracks, while years three and four differ. External placements are optional. The degree also includes an adaptation course for former Civil Technical Engineers for Public Works (Civil Constructions) to obtain the Bachelor’s degree, with no admission offer since the later referenced period in the text.

For admission to this degree, no specific conditions or special tests are planned other than the general ones established by the basic state regulations.

Students are recommended to have solid foundational training in scientific subjects, with a preference for the Bachillerato track in Technology. As a second option, the recommendations include Bachillerato in Natural Sciences and Health, or a relevant vocational education and training cycle in the Building and Civil Works branch.

Other desirable characteristics include interest in Mathematics and Physics and ease with calculation; knowledge of Informatics; ability for analysis and synthesis, and to understand and develop abstract models from specific aspects; practical sense, organisation and method, and ability to work in a team; spatial vision and attention to detail, and good manual skills; openness to changing content and interest in new technologies; innovative thinking regarding technological advances and interest in research; knowledge of a second language (English); and recommended subjects such as Earth and environmental sciences, Technical Drawing II, Physics, Mathematics II, and Industrial Technology II.
