Grado en Ingenieria de Materiales

The Grado en Ingeniería de Materiales at Universidad de Salamanca is an undergraduate degree focused on the interdisciplinary study of materials’ structure, properties, processing, and applications. Students cover work across metallic, ceramic, polymer, and biological materials, including both structural and functional materials. The degree prepares students to work in material-producing and material-using industries, and in laboratories involved in development, characterization, and quality control.

The curriculum is organized into basic training subjects (60 ECTS), compulsory subjects (156 ECTS), electives (12 ECTS), and a Final Degree Project (12 ECTS), for a total of 240 ECTS. Training includes core engineering competencies such as mathematics, mechanics and thermodynamics, and the use of computers and databases with engineering applications, plus materials-specific competencies on identifying structures, characterizing materials, modeling behavior, and planning selection, fabrication, processing, use, and recycling.
