Grado en Medicina

The Bachelor’s degree in Medicine at Universidad de Salamanca is a medical program that lasts 6 courses and totals 360 ECTS. It is organised around five modules: Morfology, structure and function of the human body; Social medicine, communication skills and research initiation; Human clinical training; Diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; and Tutored placements and final degree project. An additional elective component includes three subject areas that deepen specific aspects of Medicine.

Tutored placements total 60 ECTS and are done in two stages: in third course for placements in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and in sixth course for clinical practice rotations in primary care and specialised care. The laboratory and clinical placements are carried out mostly in health centres for primary and specialised care in Salamanca, Zamora, Ávila and León, agreed through a specific agreement between the university and the regional health management. After the sixth-course rotation, acquired competencies are assessed with an ECOE-type test.
