Grado en Odontologia

The Grado en Odontología at Universidad de Salamanca trains students to practice as a Dentista. It includes training across five courses with a total of 300 ECTS and is structured into five main modules: Basic Biomedical Sciences Relevant to Dentistry (44 ECTS), Introduction to Dentistry (49 ECTS), General Medical-Surgical Pathology and Therapeutics (24 ECTS), Dental Pathology and Therapeutics (129 ECTS), and Supervised Practice (27 ECTS) plus a Final Degree Project (6 ECTS). An additional optional module of 21 ECTS is included.

Training includes supervised practice at the University of Salamanca’s Dental Clinic. The clinic provides most of the consumable materials and the instruments needed. Students must contribute part of the practice materials, as shown in the practice materials list. Students who want to fund the purchase of that material can contact the Manager of the Dental Clinic. The degree enables regulated professional practice as a Dentista.

Profile of recommended entry includes:

• Having studied upper secondary education (Bachillerato) in the Health Sciences modality in the Science and Technology option (LOE LO2/2006), or a higher-level vocational training cycle in Health, or another university qualification, or having passed the USAL access test for over 25s.
• Having special skills in correct language use and in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics subjects.
• Having knowledge of English because specialized bibliography is preferably in this language.
