Grado en Terapia Ocupacional

The Universidad de Salamanca offers the Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy (Grado en Terapia Ocupacional). The degree focuses on forming generalist occupational therapists who use care, work, and play activities for therapeutic purposes. Students develop clinical judgment based on knowledge of therapy and occupation, and learn to evaluate occupational dysfunctions and needs and plan and implement interventions for patients of all ages and in all contexts.

The Plan includes 240 ECTS across basic training (60 ECTS), required courses (117 ECTS), elective courses (15 ECTS), external placements (42 ECTS), and the final bachelor’s thesis (6 ECTS). The program is described as having an applied learning environment with multiple real clinical cases, analysis of occupational therapy research to support meaningful occupation, and discussion of ethical issues in health and social services.

This degree is directed preferably to students who have completed upper secondary education in the Sciences and Technology track, Health Sciences option (according to LOMLOE) or who have completed a Higher Vocational Training cycle in the Health area. Other suitable characteristics include:

• A level of Spanish of B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in cases where their native language is not Spanish.
• Knowledge of English for using specialized bibliography.
• Social sensitivity and ease in interpersonal relationships.
• Ability to adapt to changing environments with new knowledge.
• Work habits and commitment to study, and a social service attitude.
• Interest in socio-health care and social sensitivity.
• Interpersonal relationship skills.
• No special conditions or tests are planned to enroll in this degree other than the general conditions set by state basic regulations.
