The Master’s Degree in Earth Science examines the structure of Earth, including plate tectonics, earthquakes, and volcanoes. It also covers natural processes such as erosion, mass wasting, glaciation, permafrost, and rivers, plus Earth history, stratigraphic and paleontologic concepts, and minerals and non-renewable earth resources and their exploitation. Topics also include natural hazards, global change, and considerations for survival in relation to water, food, and energy supplies, soil loss, and waste disposal.
This Master’s Degree is delivered online via distance learning. The program structure is 70% textbooks and 30% project, with a duration range from 9 to 12 months. Students complete 36 to 54 academic credits above a Bachelor’s program, including research methodology and a final project or thesis. Admission is open for adults over 25 years of age, and a Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent is required.
