Master S Degree Gerontology at Bircham International University is a distance learning program that explores biological, psychological, and social issues in aging. It covers cognitive change with age and the social impact of increasingly older population demographics, with a multidisciplinary approach to the health care needs of the elderly. Topics include medication use, nutrition, health care agencies, and the roles of individual health care professionals.
The program provides specialized training through courses related directly to the student’s concentration. It uses a structure of 70% textbooks and 30% project. Students complete 36 to 54 academic credits above a Bachelor’s program, including Gerontology Online and Research methodology and final project or thesis. Admission is open for adults over 25 years of age.
