Bachelor of Artificial Intelligence

The Bachelor of Artificial Intelligence is delivered at SLIIT and awarded by Deakin University. It is designed to help students design, develop, and deploy intelligent systems, with hands-on experience in areas including machine learning, data science, computer vision, and natural language processing. The programme includes modules such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Robotics, Computer Vision and Speech Processing, and Deep Learning.

Teaching runs on weekdays at the Malabe Campus. The programme has a duration of 3 Years and uses a structured module plan across multiple semesters, including data, computing, cloud, and software development topics alongside AI modules. It also includes Team Project A and Team Project (B), plus IT Placements and Industry Experience.

Graduates are prepared for roles including AI engineer, data scientist, AI ethicist, and AI architect, with opportunities across industries such as healthcare, finance, and technology.

Local A/L: Minimum of 3 "S" passes in any stream. Applicants who do not have a minimum of 3 “C” passes in the A/L Physical Science stream must achieve a weighted average of at least 65% across all first-year modules in order to progress to the second year.
