Bachelor of Science Hons Quantity Surveying

The BSc (Honours) Quantity Surveying programme builds advanced knowledge of construction, law, management, and sustainability. It covers theory and practice across construction technology, procurement, construction contracts, measurement, construction management, financial management, business management, information technology, and project management, with a focus on the factors that constrain effective management and development of the built environment.

Learning is organised across First Year, Second Year, and Third Year. Modules include Construction Technology 1, Science And Materials, Mathematics for Quantity Surveyors, Introduction To Law, Digital Built Environment, Measurement and Costing, and Construction Procurement. The programme includes an industrial training component stated as a 12-week placement, plus a Construction Research Project (Year Long Module) and a capstone research or practical project.

It is awarded by Liverpool John Moores University. The programme is for students who want roles in quantity surveying and related positions in construction and infrastructure sectors.

Local A/L:
Minimum of 3 "S" passes in the Physical Science stream & a "C" pass for O/L English.
or
Minimum of 3 “S” passes in the Biological Science/Commerce/Engineering Technology stream, “B” pass for O/L Mathematics & a “C” pass for O/L English.

Cambridge/Edexcel A/Ls:
Minimum of 3 "D" passes in the Mathematics stream (subjects equivalent to the Physical Science stream in Local A/Ls) & a "C" pass for O/L English.
or
Minimum of 3 “D” passes in the Biology/Commerce stream, “B” pass for O/L Mathematics & a “C” pass for O/L English.

Applicants should also pass the Aptitude Test conducted by SLIIT Applicants who have successfully completed the SLIIT Foundation Programme are eligible for direct enrolment into the programme. Applicants who have completed foundation programmes from other institutions may be considered subject to approval by the Institute Senate.
